アブストラクト | As the increasing software complexity, the system outages are more and more influenced by software outages. As the time and/or load increases, the software system will easily appear a kind of phenomenon called ``software aging''. The software aging phenomenon is usually referred to the performance degradation or the failure of software system, in order to maintain system's performance or retard software aging, ``software rejuvenation'' is used as a proactive management method. ``software restart'' is a simple method of the ``software rejuvenation'' that we are most familiar with. On the ``software rejuvenation (restart)'' policy, Garg et al. propose two time-based software rejuvenation policies for a server type of software system. Under the two policies, if the rejuvenation condition is satisfied, software will rejuvenate immediately. In this paper, we consider wait interval time t0 in the time-based rejuvenation. If there's no transactions come during time interval t0, the software will rejuvenate itself. |
